Children's held two community meetings early in the master planning process, in spring 2007.

May 19 Community Meeting Materials

More than 150 people attended the May 19 community meeting at Laurelhurst Elementary School and shared their input about Children’s master planning effort.

At the meeting, attendees learned more about the hospital’s need to grow on campus and participated in four break-out group discussions to share feedback about various components of a Major Institution Master Plan:

  • Transportation
  • Open space
  • Green development
  • Buildings and facilities

If you couldn’t make it to the meeting, the following information was shared:

Postcards and a mailer were sent to more than 10,000 households in Northeast Seattle to notify our neighbors. Please contact us if you did not receive the mailings and want to be added to the mailing list.

June 7 Community Meeting

Approximately 150 people attended the June 7 community meeting at Laurelhurst Elementary School where questions asked at the May 19 meeting were further discussed.

A panel discussion featured Children’s staff; each specializing in a different aspect of the Major Institution Master Plan:

  • Buildings and facilities
  • Transportation
  • Open space
  • Environmental stewardship

Attendees learned more about Children’s Hospital potential plans for the Laurelhurst campus and were free to ask questions and state comments on each component.
